Who We Are and What We Do:

Public Assets consists of three departments, Fleet, Facilities and Parks.

  • The Fleet Department consists of two divisions; fleet management and fleet operations.  We manage a $10 million fleet for Police, Fire, Public Works and Administration.  Our technicians are professional and career oriented employees that are certified in many areas of vehicle, fire apparatus, equipment maintenance and repair.  We keep the City’s vehicles and equipment safe and in compliance with state and federal standards and laws.  We are innovative and progressive in our approach to better maintenance, fabricating and equipping our vehicles and equipment.  We provide replacement projections and goals as a responsible tool to aid in the capital budget process each year.
  • The Facilities Department manages City owned buildings and facilities including their maintenance, repairs, remodeling and capital improvement projects.  We maintain contracts for janitorial, building maintenance and repair contractors, grounds maintenance and snow removal.  We manage lease and rental agreements so that the City’s obligations are properly met and executed.  We maintain security systems for access and alarms.  We provide capital improvement projections and goals as a responsible tool to aid in the capital budget process each year.
  • The Parks Department manages and maintains all of the City’s parks and open spaces.  Our Parks personnel are trained in agriculture, playground safety, operation of parks equipment and parks management.  We operate a premier community service worker program and work closely with our courts and administrators.  We provide resources and support to maintain utility properties and alleyways.  We provide capital improvement projections and goals as a responsible tool to aid in the capital budget process each year.
