Vote by Mail Election - How it works
Every eligible active voter will be mailed a ballot at least three weeks prior to Election Day. An active voter is a voter that has voted at least once in the last four years.

Ballots are not forwarded. However, if a ballot is returned as "undeliveralbe" with a forwarding address within Salt Lake County, the Salt Lake County Clerk's Election Division will spoil the returned ballot, update the address and send a new ballot for their new precinct.

The Salt Lake County Election Division will mail ballots weekly to newly registered voters or to those voters who have moved. Ballots will be mailed daily the week prior to Election Day.

The Primary Election will be Tuesday, August 15, 2017.

Early Voting:
In-office voting is offered at the Salt Lake County Election Division during regular working hours twenty days prior to the Primary Election and continues through the Monday before Election Day. Other early voting locations will be established at additonal locations throughout the county and will be open Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays during August 1-11. To see a list of the early voting locations, their days and hours of operation, click HERE.

Vote Centers: There will be one Vote Center in South Salt Lake on Primary Election Day. That will be at the Columbus Center, 2531 South 400 East. Any voter can go to any Vote Center location to vote. For a complete list of the Vote Centers click HERE.

The General Election will be Tuesday, November 7, 2017.

Both elections will be vote by mail elections. We have contracted with Salt Lake County to conduct these elections. On election day you can go to their website for the results.
